Hello world! March 31, 2007

Just thought I start a blog as a place to store and show my crafts and the occasional pictures of my two dogs and the amazing landscape that surrounds me. My crafts, rubber stamping especially, is done, as the name suggests, far north above the Arctic Circle, in Finnish Lapland.

Having no light pollution round here we can admire the northern lights in their whole glory. It is the most amazing sight and I do not get tired of watching them. And the same goes for the night sky in general. Not anywhere have I seen stars so bright and in such numbers. So, I have added to my long shopping list of craft products and rubber stamps yet another item: a telescope.
WOW! Santu!
I am soooooo jealous!
How cool is that, being located where you can actually see the great Northern Lights!!
Your new location sounds absolutley wonderful!
Wrap up warm!
Stay Happy!
Best Wishes,

What a beautiful sky, I would be watching that every night, Looks like you have found a lovely place to live. And the dogs are lovely to. Hope you will be very happy there…Trixie.
The picture you have taken of the aurora boreolis is simply stunning. I have only been lucky enough to see them once off Aberdeen and they took my breath away then, but they were nothing like they are on your picture.
Your dogs are absolutely gorgeous. Are they a relation of the Spaniel? They have the droopy ears and “feed me, love me” eyes of the spaniel family. Beautiful.
Look forward to getting to know you better through the forum.

Thanks for all the comments.
I also saw the Northern Light for the first time just couple of years ago when visiting Lapland but they were nothing like the ones I have seen this winter (and I have lost count now how many I’ve seen!). I can’t believe something so amazing exists. They are one of those things that you just simply must see.
Lynn, the “boys” are in deed of the Spaniel relation. They are English Cocker Spaniels. How could I have anything else except English? DH is from Lancashire. So, in this household, the English rule!
Hi Sari,
In the past I saw the Northern lights from Cumbria (then Cumberland)but not as spectacular as your photo.
We also had a spaniel but a Springer. We adored him, he was called Rex.
He helped our cat bring up her kittens as she was a stray and very young. Spaniels are so gentle and very loyal aren’t they?
