best fishes

Here’s a silly card I sent to Wendy on her birthday. The heading reads ‘best fishes’.

I cut the waves with an eclipse punch and used the leftover pieces as stencils to stipple some chalk for more waves. DH’s first comment was: Why are the fish flying in the clouds? Doh!

I like making Queenie cards. I share a birthday with the late Queen Mother so that makes me practically a royalty, doesn’t it?

The hand written tab says: Drama Queen.

I made some stress toys for my sisters. The idea is not mine – I stole it from Jenn Mason’s book “Pockets, Pull-outs and Hiding Places”.

They are in the form of a matchbook. Couple of sheets of bubble wrap are hidden underneath the poem card.

Here’s a close-up of the poem.

I have been meaning to make a birthday book where to write down everybody’s birthdays so that I can send cards in time. I decided to do the book with a little twist and instead of dividing the book with the months I divided it with the horoscopes. I love horoscope stamps and this was a good way to use them all. Now all I need to do is write down all the important dates!

I’ve been a bit lazy with updates recently, so here comes a few cards.

resist1

resist2

This one is a cheerful summer card with a little accordian book on the front. I sent it to a forum friend as thank you for a favour she did for me.

bottle cap flower

And this bottle cap flower card was sent to Stamping Mad Forum’s birthday list, to Spooky. The flower and the edges of the card has been highlighted with rub-ons metallic colours.

mum

And this is a mother’s day card. The butterflies have been stamped with resist technique (my favourite technique at the moment!) and then some more butterflies slightly off-set with darker ink.

hair gel

This one is a funny hair gel card which I made several years ago. I just found it and it reminded me to try this fun technique again sometime. Behind the apperture is a zip lock bag with a little hair gel. It looks like water bubbles and feels nice to the touch too.

I took part in Stamping Mad’s ATC swap with a theme ‘metallic’. I made these:

ATCs

I’m not sure if these are metallic enough but I wanted to use something other than gold, silver or bronze. So I used metallic purple and green but they don’t seem that metallic.

I got these back. Iron Maiden by Donna and the silver butterfly by Jane. I like them both very much!
