Sweeties December 31, 2007

I found these funny rhymes last year too late for Christmas so made sure I was in time this year. For the snowman I really wanted some mini marshmellows but couldn’t find any but I found these little mint coated chocolate balls instead. For the reindeer bag I put chocolate raisins. Pictures look a bit silly because the background is white as is the card on the bags.

Just in case you can’t read the rhymes on the bags, they go:
You’ve been naughty
So here’s the Scoop
You’re getting nothing
But Snowman Poop!
Santa’s been here. How do I know?
Look what I found outside in the snow!

Doggie calendars December 20, 2007

Here are some quick tag calendars I made to be sent with the Christmas cards. There is a magnet at the back so the calendar could be kept on the fridge door, for example. The calendars only use some paper scraps which have been distressed with Vintage Photo ink.

Baubles December 18, 2007

I made some quick baubles. They don’t look too Christmassy but rather cute anyway, I thought. There is just a crumbled up ball of silkpaper inside, dots of Stickles glitter glue outside and a matching ribbon.

Christmas spirit… December 13, 2007

…is not something we drink. I thought I could post some scrapbook pages for a change. These have been made ages ago and I don’t think I’ve done any since. Must change that.

This one says: “Getting into the Christmas Spirit”. “On his first Christmas Oskar was a greedy puppy and would eat and drink anything, even our wine. He would have had it all, if we had not stopped him.” He hasn’t touched the stuff since, I’d like to add.

“Doggy sing-a-long”. “Oskar loves singing. He sings to anything: ice cream tunes, Star Trek soundtrack, anything high-pitched, folk music, religious music…Oskar’s favourite songs:
-Loverly Spring from Lemony Snicket
-Caravan Song by Barbara Dickson
-Carpet of the Sun by Renaissance
-Hallelujah Chorus from the Messiah
Oskar has also taught his little brother Tesla to sing and now they sing some duettes every day. Tesla is nowhere near as good as Oskar, in fact, Tesla is mainly amusing but Oskar always does an “Oscar winning performance”.

Nothing to add to this one!

“Snow Quarry.” “We found this place near us where all the snow from the streets of Espoo gets dumped. It looked a lot like a quarry, except for rocks it had snow and so we started to call it a snow quarry. Since there were no snow lorries at the weekends it was a great place for Oskar to run. Oskar would go and find a lump of snow and then be chased. He would also climb on top of a mountain and be the king of the hill.”
What a star!

A few ATCs for a change. These are from a swap ‘time’.

And these had a theme ‘colour’ (of your choice).

Sparkly snow December 5, 2007

Although it’s not particularly cold here in the Winter Wonderland at the moment we do have close to half a metre of snow, if not more. So these following cards seem quite appropriate. I stamped a large sheet full of snowflakes and then wiped the whole card with VersaMark ink and embossed it with holographic embossing powder. I then made three cards out of that big snowflake sheet. On the first one I also glued some clear beads on the snowflakes. I wonder if they are all going to fall off in the post. Hopefully not. ‘Hyvää Joulua’ means ‘Merry Christmas’ and ‘Joulutervehdys’ means ‘Christmas Greetings’.

Distressed tealight holders December 4, 2007

I made these cute and simple tealight holders the other day. The holders are actually old gel candle cups which I had kept. I brushed them with decoupage medium and put silkpaper on top all wrinkled. Then another layer of decoupage medium and once that was dry I dabbed some distress inks on. After the ink was dry I brushed on another layer of decoupage medium. One of the tealight holders got a collar from wire and acrylic beads. I think it looks nice so I might do a red collar for the other one too.

Chrismas joy December 2, 2007

I have been making Christmas cards since August, I think. I hardly ever make more than one of the same kind so I take my time with them. Here are some black & white & red ones. ‘Jouluiloa’ means Christmas Joy.
