Another book swap May 30, 2008

I took part in a book swap where everyone decided on the size and shape of their book as well as the theme. This was so much fun. Here are all the pages I made for the swap:
This one was ‘Wings’:

Water (in any shape or form):

Butterflies (and a poem or rhyme had to be included):

Seaside:

Partly Human:

Birdhouse:

Another one with ‘Wings’:

My own book had the theme ‘Celestial’:

And this is my finished book:

I made the covers from Acetate, stamped with Stazon and alcohol inked from behind.
I would also like to mention about that cool dude with wings stamp I used on the second Wings page. It’s from an Art&Life stamp set which I got from Zettiology. At the time, I didn’t know that it was designed by Michelle Ward. I also didn’t know that the dude is actually Ville Valo of HIM. I thought that it just looked like him. It is him! How cool is that? There are not that many Finnish rock bands that have made it abroad, but HIM has and the lead singer manages to get onto a rubber stamp set. And little me ends up having one of the limited edition stamp sets. How cool is that?!! Anyway, I’m quite liberal and have also used my Ville Valo stamp as Johnny Depp, like in this book.

Here are some cards I made a little while back. I used the cute mouse by Whipper Snapper on all of them, just coloured them all differently.

All the greetings are in Finnish and they are all for a birthday.

I have swapped music themed ATCs with a friend of mine before. This time we had a different approach and decided to make cards that fit inside little sellofane bags which are made into a little book. We decided to call it a songbook. This is the book I made:

The book is made according to these instructions, just adjusted to the bagsize which in this case is 7 x 12 cm.
These are the music cards I made to fit the bags:

Ian Dury and the Blockheads: Hit me with your rhythm stick

Dandy Warhols: Bohemian like you

The Specials: Ghost town

Bryan Adams: 18 till I die

Madness: House of fun

The Who: I’m a boy

Ian Anderson: The secret language of birds

The Vapors: Turning Japanese

Monkeys: The Monkeys

Nena: 99 Luftballons
There is space for 10 more cards in the book so there will be another swap soon. Watch this space…
Japanese minibook May 15, 2008

I had this little tin which I decoupaged with Japanese newpaper. I stipled the newspaper with Distressed inks and addhered a punched flower on top.

I thought this was ok but it needed something else. A book.

So I made a little accordian book inside the tin. I decorated the book with all sorts of Japanese things I could get my hands on. I like the cover page best. The little flowers are shrink plastic and cute as anything.
