I came up with this brilliant idea of making a book of my dogs, inspired by films. Oskar always gives such an ‘Oskar-winning performance’ anyway. The first page also happens to go well with the Chinese New Year tomorrow. So, Happy New Year!

A tough one January 23, 2009

This blank bag kept staring at me every time I was in the shops. Before it had time to think that I have a blank canvas syndrome I decided to do something:

I could have gone for some felt flowers or frills or something equally pretty but nah…This text seemed much more appropriate. I saw it on a patch once. I stamped the text with my favourite foam stamp set. The coolest letter in the alpabet, ‘S’, just happens to be the biggest. Yay!

I found a picture of these earrings I made ages ago. I made them out of bottle caps which were flattened with a mallet. Inside is an embossed piece of metal cut out of a can and the whole thing is coated in Glossy Accents. These are a bit big for my liking but makes a good excuse to have a beer or three.

Another day, another calendar swap. This swap was for a house shaped calendar. Anything goes, as long as it is in the shape of a house. I have not made any row houses before but I quite liked making these. As for the December’s arrow pointing at ‘naughty’… I don’t know what that is all about because I’m dead nice me! Here is what I did.

Zetti for the year ahead January 9, 2009

I swapped a calendar with a friend. It was an anything goes swap so naturally I used my favourite stamps, Zettiology. All the pages are coloured with Distress Inks and the stamped images are coloured in with coloured pencils and gelpens or they are coloured out. That is clearly visible in February and July, for excample. I just took off some of the Distress Ink with a wet paint brush. I like the effect. The first picture shows back and front cover.

More calendars January 6, 2009

One more quick calendar. This one is for me. Not much space to write anything down and there are two possible reasons. Either 1. Nothing much happens in my life or 2. My memory is so splendidly good that I don’t need to write anything down.

Most stamps are by Paperbagstudios and Artjourney. All purchased at my favourite European stamp store Artjourney. They are in Holland, isn’t that weird?

Ethnic calendar January 2, 2009

If I want to get any calendars done before next summer they have to be quick to make. This one was. Ethnic meets Scandinavian minimalism! It’s simply stamped, embossed and coloured with glitter pens. Edges of the thick watercolour card are distressed with a paper distresser.
