I knitted this really cool Bohemian scarf using nothing but tiny little bundles of leftover yarn. There is just one row of each colour and the yarn ends are simply knotted.

My boy likes the scarf, too. He even tasted it a little. Isn’t he a handsome beast?

More knitting related stuff. I made some stitch markers. I would have liked to put them onto metal rings but I didn’t have any so I used waxed cord. Nothing wrong with them. I obviously had to cast on something that requires using stitch markers, just to test them out, and they work fine, and why wouldn’t they? The first lot is made using clear water pipe and pattern paper. The second lot uses these cute t-shirt charms which used to be a kids’ hair bobble.

My mum’s birthday is approaching and although she is a master knitter herself I decided to knit and felt a bag for her. I found this really yummy deep purple (heh) yarn on an Internet shop and thought it would make a nice bag. When the parcel arrived and I opened it, it was love at first sight. Nom nom nom nom. I knew immediately that the deep purple yarn and I could not part. So, plan B: Mum gets a blue bag. She likes blue so maybe it’s better this way anyway, or so I convinced myself. I knitted the bag, felted it and even crocheted a flower. I’m not much of a hooker but managed to get the flower to look a little like a flower. It has been attached with a safety pin so mum can take it off if she doesn’t like it. Pattern for the bag is here and here is the finished bag:

Of course I also made a card for her. Not quite so traditional but I’m sure she’ll like it. She is my biggest fan after all.

Here are some Christmas cards I’ve made recently. I seem to like snowy things, blue and purple. Makes sense, I suppose.

Since I had the board, papers and matchboxes out after making the matchbox pyramid I made another matchbox thing.

It’s a box on stilts. Three stilts.

There are 6 drawers at the bottom and one big box on the top.

Hinges for the lid are made of bits of ribbon and eyelets.

Naturally the inside of the box is covered in patterned paper, too.

I can’t make any more of these now. I ran out of empty matchboxes. I have been saving them for several years.

Here’s couple of autumnal cards. Syysiloa means autumn joy. It’s just a matter of days now until it’s over. Autumn, that is.

I made this Christmas calendar recently. I used 24 matchboxes, Eskimo Kisses paper and various embellishments for the numbers. I thought it turned out ok. Now I should think about filling the drawers… A crafter shouldn’t even think about anything but handmade items…doh!

Remember this little fella? I thought it’s time to make his little, more industrialized brother. I ransacked the toolbox and an old knackered CD player for this sweetie.

While I was at it I thought I might as well do the country bumpkin cousin. And yes, I know the feeling!

Here is another little bag I made. This time I used a thighpocket from a very knackered pair of pants and the lining used to be my all time favourite denim shirt which had started to look a bit too weathered for wear.
