Let there be light

Posted: November 24, 2010 in ATC

It’s getting close to the darkest time of the year. Almost a month to go yet and on these latitudes we still have as much as 4 hours of daylight. The sun doesn’t get very high anymore, just barely above the treetops. The good news is that there is snow at the moment everywhere in the country, which makes it much lighter. Usually November is just cold, wet, dark and miserable, and October isn’t any better. November is considered the worst month of the year and it is said that Finland is the only country in the world where November starts in October.

‘Valoa pimeyteen’ means ‘Light to the darkness’.
