I bagged it

Once a winter coat, now a funky new bag. Ta-dah!

I’ve raided the wardrobes and I’m going make stuff using clothes which haven’t been worn for a while. This bag was made using an old winter coat and matching padded pants. There’s plenty more material left for more bags. Perhaps all my nieces will get a blue-green bag next Christmas.

The pattern for this bag is from a book called ‘The Perfect Handmade Bag’. It’s padded, lined, and the backside is just green, front has some funky strips.

    Hi Sari

Great job on the bag, will look out for the book you mentioned :)It feels nice repurposing items doesn’t it.

    Best wishes

Thanks Billie. It’s great to repurpose stuff and get some space in the wardrobe at the same time 🙂

I think that book is great. The patterns are fairly simple so even someone who’s not experienced in sewing can manage just fine, and all the bags in the book are made with repurposed stuff.
