I have seen it and it is good

Yesterday, for the first time in what seems like forever, I have seen the Sun. The days have been getting longer since Christmas and finally the Sun has climbed high enough above the horizon for one to see it. Funny thing is, I was not the only one who was ogling it with strange interest. Total strangers kept telling me about the curious orange ball in the sky. People were seemingly happy and looking forward to lighter days. This is life up here above the Arctic circle. Little things (if the Sun can be called ‘a little thing’) make a huge difference.

On 10th January, just after midday. The day is 3 hours long.

Although our days are much longer, it feels like they are short as we have seen so little sun, just lots of rain! Now it’s turned cold but brighter so spring is on the way……..yeah!

Yeah, I know, spring is on its way! Up here it’ll only take another…erm…almost half a year 🙂 It’s practically on the doorstep, right?
I’m glad the rain has stopped over there for a change.
