A hoot

Owls are cool. Here’s a threesome of owl cards for various occasions. The first one says ‘hip hip hurrah’ (like you couldn’t guess it – isn’t Finnish almost like English nowadays?), the next one is for a birthday and the last one says ‘Have a lovely day’.

See the eyes of the first owl? I glued some wire swirls (or coils or whatever they should be called) on them. They look kind of like glasses, and yet they don’t. I like that.

Chinese and upside down

My sister has two adopted girls from China. They always celebrate the Chinese New Year. I usually forget the whole thing. Except this year I remembered and I even made a card for them – the year of the horse, and all that (and I was really chuffed). Only I was told after that the Chinese sign on the card is upside down. Doh!

I keep telling me that it’s the thought that counts.

For you

Here are two ‘Friend’s Day’ cards. I sprayed the heart shape with water after inking it with Distress Ink. I like the watercolour effect. It makes the heart a little less like a heart, if you know what I mean. The top card says ‘for you’ and the second one says ‘for a friend’.

I’ve made some Valentine’s Day cards, or ‘Friend’s Day’ cards as the day is called over here. I got carried away with spray inks.

I think I mentioned once that I really like baubles on Christmas cards. I wasn’t joking.

Spooky!

I made more new stamps from mouldable foam. These were just test prints but I liked them and made them into ATCs. This first one is made using masks made from air-drying clay.

This one was made using a plastic skeleton. He has a pretty smile, yes? Looks to me more like a monkey than a skeleton though.

And this is another skeleton. For some reason this skeleton has a very small head. The rest of it looks great.

The last one is a star! It’s a doll’s head and it looks spooky as hell!! Brilliant.

More Christmas cards. The first two happened because I happened to have a piece of white card on my desk.

I seem to like patterns.

This is soooo out of my comfort zone! I’m not even sure I like it.

This is much more my kind of thing; simple and not too cluttered.

Yep, patterns again.
